撮影場所はケアンズから南西に400kmほど言ったGeorgetownという場所。ここはヨーク半島の付け根の中央部にあたり、さらに400km北西へむかえばGulf側へ出ます。
This was photographed in Gerogetown, 400km southwest from Cairns, QLD.

Macrochelodina属ではないことは一見してわかるので、オーストラリアナガクビChelodina longicollisかカンナガクビC. canniかとなりますが、撮影場所から言って間違い無くC. canniでしょう。
Easy to tell it is NOT Macrochelodina. From the locality info, this animal is identified to be Chelodina canni.

よく見ると確かに頭部や頸部の赤味がかった色合いややや大型の頭部はいかにもC. canniですね。
Reddish coloration on the head and the upper side of the neck is typical for the species. The robust head is also characteristic for the species.

池の様子はこんな感じで、周辺に川はなく、本来もっと大きな池の、水量が減った状態のようです。ペリカンなんかもいたそうで、おそらく、エサとなる生き物は意外に豊富なんでしょうね。

ご存知のようにC. canniは日本ではまず見る事ができません。貴重な写真どうもありがとうございました。
This species is very rarely seen in the pet trade.
